Post Work-out Banana Berry Blend Smoothie
I know my way around a
smoothie- I’ve (tragically) been making them for half a decade now. Whether
or not you plan to work out in the new year, I have a recipe to make sure you
get the most out of your workout / ijustwanttowhipsomethingupthatdoesn’trequirechewingbecauseimlazy.
WHY should you care
about what you eat post work-out anyway?
Protein post-work out
enhances muscle uptake and repair. Combined with
carbohydrate, the effects of eating protein post-workout improves and supports
recovery. That’s why I’ve thrown together my own recipe that you can throw
together to eat within 30 minutes after your exercise routine.
1. BLEND=
- 1 cup of milk (skim
OR soy)
- 1 cup of low fat
diet berry yoghurt
- 1 banana
-1 cup frozen mixed
berries
- 2 smoothie cubes (I
used Creative Gourmet- Berry Antioxidant)
-1/4 cup All Bran
- 1 tablespoon chia
seeds
- 5 ice cubes
2. SERVE (this recipe is for two)
Alternatively, don’t
follow this recipe and mix and match whatever you want.
